Coating

Big and beautiful. I have always been a fan over oversized coats. Working for selfridges has only indulged my love of the cocoon beauties. Acne is a huge weakness of mine. For example this mustard number has hit the spot with a loose belt and large pocket look.

Acne also offers this tasty treat:

loose, shapeless, unflattering.... absolute perfection. There is nothing like a loose fur number to create class and style.

Luxury felt is all the rage at the moment. Perfect for the new winter coming along. Winter is a time where my love of fashion blooms. Layering with large knits and simple coats with heavy shoes and statement accessories  is a perfect look for the colder seasons.

However the classic camel coat is almost a winner everytime. Unfortunate brand name for some. But amazing clothing for others. Acne.

Shoes........ eurgh

I am terrible at picking shoes. I have wide feet and i usually break shoes within a few good months. This might be because sometimes i run around like an elephant. I am not even going to pretend im classy. Because i'm not.

I also tend to find most shoes look a bit generic and samey. Metal and really bad fake leather, either with teeny heels which is a replica of a knife. Or chunky heels that could hide a gun in it.
Is it bad that i relate shoes to murder and pain?

Then i was brouwsing the Whistles website. I saw in the Sale they supported a brand of footwear from Kat Maconie. Her shoes actually look like shoes that would last and look fabulous. Proper luxurious materials used. Rope, Suede, Leather. All lovely

Hurrah for practical nice shoes!

Bally Spring/Summer 2011

Bally is famous for its use of high quality fabrics - especially shoes! However whilst browsing in their new collection. I felt its simplicity was perfect for the summer. It still has that whole "travel/holiday" look. Though more classy. Using leather to compliment the colours. As much as i am in love with this collection. It does remind me of the South African flag a little bit.

Post Xmas Shopping

Sadly for me. My Birthday is the 28th of December. So the week of the 25th would usually be messy as new years is slapped right in there at the end. However I did venture into Regents Street hungover and limping. I think there was a point when I wanted to cry as the hustle and bustle of the sales was not complimenting my swaying, retching adventure.

Why did i do all of this? For my favourite high street shop. COS. There was a pretty good sale. I only bought 2 dresses. Though let's be honest that was £150 down the drain in minutes. For a student, not so good. Mr Drapers. (My main man who i actually will listen to - It's perfectly normal to sexualize a Fashion Business Magazine) told me that COS is creating an online shopping experience for us early 2011. However this was much needed. I have always found their website...confusing and crap. They have changed it not that long ago to a white scroll up and down website. Better, but not as good as the clothing. I bought a wool tailored long sleeved burgundy dress. Also a paper bag style dress with a blue cute pattern topped with some bunched sleeves.

I know you are jealous of my fabulous camera skills. God bless really terrible webcam's.

Here is some of their styles and garments

There is a small concession store in Selfridges in Manchester. It doesn't quench my thirst enough. Usually COS is also well known for their amazing, intricate shop layout with simplicity and effective furniture placements to help make the interior look minimal and creative.
